援助災民工作持續

【慈幼通訊社 2013 11 18 菲律賓宿霧訊】 風災救援工作展開了一個星期後,國際救援物資,現已抵達飽受颱風海燕蹂躪的地區。救援工作的規劃,亦已透過慈幼世界,由菲律賓向外伸展。以下各個救災方案正在進行中:

都靈鮑思高福傳組織,以意大利文編寫一輯記錄,描述災區目前的狀況,以及所需的援助,另有附以英文字幕的版本

此外,慈幼會美國東部會省福傳辦公室亦設立了「實況直擊」網頁:

在颱風橫過期間,宿霧瑪利亞進教之佑學校,開放了體育館讓公眾避風。水位上漲時,洪水全流向課室,整座建築物則屹立不倒。風暴過後,學校向災民供應膳食。

目前慈幼會士的主要目標,在於援助約二百萬個家庭共八百五十萬災民。

─菲律賓的慈幼會士,被分派到十一個中心,負責接收及儲存救濟品的工作。在宿霧以及東達沃省和西內格羅省,急需義工協助安裝救災設備。

─救災期過後,救援隊伍在重建期間,仍會留守當地。

慈幼會美國東部會省福傳辦公室,在美國多個合作伴伙的協調下:

-協助運送285,120個救濟包,包括米飯及藥物。

-協助運送由「同一世界足球」提供,載有足球的貨櫃。

  這些物資將於下週抵達宿霧,提供給當地少年,讓他們透過遊戲,紓緩災難帶來的創傷。

-聯絡鞋履公司TOMS為有需要人士提供新鞋。

透過各個慈幼會組織,包括塞維利亞的「鮑思高團結」(Solidaridad Don Bosco)及意大利的「我們為你們」(Noi per Loro ),我們收到有關舉行大型籌款活動,以及透過社交網絡的高效傳意運動的消息。此外,「鮑思高網絡」的主要領袖,將於今天下午召開大會,分析並規劃救災工作。

Continuing efforts to help the people

(ANS - Philippines Cebu, 18 November 2013) – A week after the start of rescue operations, international aid is now reaching the areas most affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Aid activities are also being planned throughout the Salesian world, starting from the Philippines. We report below some of the many initiatives:

Don Bosco Missions of Turin has made ​​a documentary in Italian and another version with English subtitles to present the current situation and what is most needed.

The Salesian Mission Office in New Rochelle has created a page of "Fast Facts" where it is stated, inter alia:

  • During the passage of the typhoon the Mary Help of Christians Institute in  Cebu opened its gym to assist the population. When the water began to rise all were moved into the classrooms. The buildings survived. After the typhoon, meals were served.

  • Currently the aim of the Salesians is to help and assist 8.5 million people, or about 2,000,000 families affected.

  • The Salesians in the Philippines have designated 11 centres for the reception and storage of aid. In Cebu and in the provinces of Eastern Davao and Western Negros, a call was made for volunteers to help assemble rescue kits.

  • It is planned to remain involved during the recovery phase when the emergency phase has passed.

In collaboration with various partners in the United States, the Salesian Mission Office in New Rochelle:

  • is coordinating the shipment of 285,120 packages, including energy meals of rice and medicines.

  • is also coordinating the shipment of various container of footballs provided by One World Futbol. These will arrive in Cebu next week and will be used to distract children and relieve stress from trauma through games.

  • the company TOMS was contacted to provide new shoes for those in need.

From the various Salesian organizations involved, including Solidaridad Don Bosco in Seville, and Noi per Loro in Italy, we are receiving reports of excellent fund-raising activities and an effective communications campaign through social networks. This afternoon, in addition, there is a conference of the principal leaders of the Don Bosco Network (DBN) to analyze and plan activities.

From the formation communities of the Philippines comes news of their activity: yesterday, Sunday, November 17, at the Don Bosco Center for Studies in Paranaque Mass was celebrated for the intentions of those affected by the typhoon. Students and staff have donated goods that will be sent to the affected areas. The previous day, students and teachers of Seminaryo ng Don Bosco, Paranaque, canceled classes to help Caritas-Manila. They loaded 3 trucks of relief goods.  At the St. John Bosco Salesian parish in Makati, numerous volunteers from the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati and other Salesian communities pledged to assemble relief kits.
