─ 11月11日晚上，總會長從印度回程途中，得悉他的兄弟，年屆68歲的彌額爾，於梅特雷心臟病發，不幸逝世。
在這兩年期間，查偉思神父已第四次收到家人去世的消息。彌額爾查偉思已婚，有五名子女。
慈幼會副總會長白康寧神父，代表全體議會議員及慈幼會士，對查偉思神父所經歷的哀傷致以慰問，並承諾一眾會士及慈幼大家庭成員一定會特別為他祈禱。
Fr Pascual Chávez in mourning
(ANS – Rome - RMG , 12 November 2009 ) – On his return from his travels in India, the Rector Major received news of the death yesterday evening 11 November of his brother Miguel Angel 68 years of age, at Monterrey following a heart attack.
In the space of two years this is the fourth time that Fr Chávez has received the sad news of the death of a brother. Miguel Angel Chávez Villanueva was married and had five children.
In the name of the Councillors and of the Salesians in the Generalate the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Adriano Bregolin, expressed condolences at the sudden loss experienced by Fr Chávez and assured him of a special remembrance in the prayers of the members of the Congregation and of the Salesian Family.
