【慈幼通訊社 ─ 2009年12月7日義大利米蘭訊】 ─ 12月7日，米蘭市市長Letizia Moratti女士，向慈幼會總會長－查偉思神父頒授了米蘭市大金章。藉此表揚慈幼會在該市超過一世紀以來的工作。
該金章是「盎博羅削金章」（Golden
Ambrose），這是每年一度的活動，用以表揚對公益有傑出貢獻的人士或團體。
這天早上，儀式在米蘭市“Dal Verme”劇院舉行。
代表慈幼會領受這項榮譽的是總會長－查偉思神父，陪同的有副總會長白康寧神父及義大利（Lombardy－Emilia）（ILE）會省長上蘇思奧神父（Fr Agostino Sosio）。
頒授這大金章給慈幼會的理由是：慈幼會對「教育及福傳」工作的不懈努力。這個有超過150多年歷史的國際組織，由會祖聖鮑思高神父所創立，見證了對青少年的服務。在前線，為最貧苦者及邊緣人士服務，榮幸地將文化及仁愛帶至全球128個國家，作證了這項刻劃出「最高人性價值」的計劃和生活格調。
The Large Gold Medal of Milan to the Salesian Congregation
(ANS – Italy – Milan, 7 December 2009 ) – Today 7 December the Mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti, presented a Large Gold Medal to Fr Pascual Chavez for the work of the Salesian Congregation in the Milan area for over a century.
The presentation took place within the context of the Golden Ambrose, and annual event at which recognition is made to a number of persons who have made a distinguished contribution to the common good. It took place this morning in the “Dal Verme” Theatre in Milan.
Representing the Salesian Congregation in addition to Fr Pascual Chávez were also his Vicar Fr Adriano Bregolin and the Provincial of Italy Lombardy–Emilia (ILE) Fr Agostino Sosio.
The reasons given for the conferment of the Large Gold Medal were: “’Education and evangelisation” are at the centre of the daily efforts of the Institute. For 150 years the international organisation, founded by St John Bosco, has given witness to its service to youth. In the front line among the poorest and the marginalised, it has proudly brought culture and charity to 128 countries around the world, bearing witness to a project and a style of life marked by the highest human values.”
