陳樞機在講道中表示:「我很高興與你們一起,要記著,我是你們的叔父。」他論及發願,尤其是貞潔與獨身願時說:「你們不要取回任何已獻於天主的東西,獻身於祂確是一份寶貴的恩賜,應好好珍惜。」樞機的來臨,各方均表示歡迎及感恩,尤其是在場的執事,其中一位執事說:「我們一聽到陳樞機要來臨時,都感緊張 整個慶典由一場莊嚴的出遊活動開始,隊伍由鮑思高少年城學生表演的傳統非洲舞蹈帶領。在感恩祭結束後,來自盧旺達的舞蹈員,隨即在聖堂外進行一場色彩繽紛的表演,配以美妙的擊鼓,稍後全體會眾均獲邀觀賞文藝表演,並共進午餐。 Cardinal Zen ordains 13 deacons (ANS –Kenya –Nairobi, 12 May 2010 ) – On Saturday 8 May Cardinal Joseph Zen, the retired Bishop of Hong Kong ordained 13 deacons at the shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Nairobi. The deacons were from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ruanda, Nigeria and Uganda. 36 priests, many seminarians, sisters and lay people were present at the colourful ceremony which was celebrated with many African traditions of singing and dancing. “I am happy to be here with you and, remember, I am your Uncle.” Cardinal Zen said in his homily. Speaking of the vows, especially chastity and celibacy he said, “Don’t take back anything you have given to God, it is a precious gift He as given and so treasure it.” The presence of the Cardinal was very welcome and much appreciated by all who were present especially by the Deacons, one of whom at the end said: “We were so thrilled when we heard that Cardinal Zen was coming that we even forgot whether we were admitted or not.” The whole ceremony began with a solemn procession led by a traditional African dance performed by the students of Don Bosco Boys Town. Immediately after the Mass Rwandan dancers gave a colourful performance accompanied by their beautiful drum beating just outside the Church, and all were invited to a treat of cultural performances and lunch. |
