博士, 相關網頁:http://www.join-the-game.org/en “Join the Game” for education (ANS –South Africa - Johannesburg , 2 July 2010) – While the Football World Cup enters its final stages the work of the Salesians of Don Bosco and some Salesian NGO continues on behalf of education to a world view and to integration. The Salesian South African Planning and Development Office with “Jugend Eine Welt” (Austria), “Jovenes y Desarrollo” (Spain), “Salesiánská asociace Dona Boska” (Czech Republic), “Salezjanski Wolontariat Misyjny” (Poland) and “Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo” (Italy) launched the “Champions for South Africa – Join the game” Campaign, jointly financed by the European Commission. It involves an interactive game available on the internet or with a DVD, with the aim of showing European children and young people how their peers in South Africa live. The games develops through a series of animated programmes representing the challenges and the choices facing young South Africans. At the end, after seeing reports, photographs and video clips the players have to make their decisions on which the final result depends. There is a version for children between 8 and 12 years of age and another for teenagers between 13 and 18, and both are available in German, English, Czech, Polish, Italian and Spanish.
“Champions for South Africa – Join the game” also provides teaching material
for teachers with quizzes and open questions about South African geography,
history, society and daily life also in two categories according to age, so
that the players can test themselves to see how much they have learned. Among the sponsors is Giovane Elber, a former Brazilian international who, with the German Ambassador to South African Dr Dieter Haller, is the Honorary Patron of the campaign. Paying a visit to the Salesian house in Ennerdale near Johannesburg, on 9 June, the talented Brazilian player publicly gave his support to the missionary work of the Salesians in South Africa, saying that “only with education and a good formation can young people escape from poverty. It is very important to give them an all-round education since not all of them can become professional footballers.” |
