1935 年 11 月 11 日，胡子義神父開展了他在中國(香港和澳門)的傳教使命，製片人特意選擇今天 ─ 2015 年 11 月 11 日作他紀錄片的首映。入場門劵每位港幣100 元，所有收入捐贈「安貧小姊妹 - 聖瑪利安老院」。 100多名觀眾參加是次首映活動。
大會嘉賓陳日君樞機致詞時表示，胡子義神父為此事很高興：因為這一切都是來自天主的。紀錄片令他再次記起，作為一個意大利人、一個基督徒、一個慈幼會神父、並最終成為一位服務麻風病人的傳教士的榮幸。陳樞機指，胡子義神父總是充滿喜樂，並非常感謝所有的恩人。大家應記住所有曾支持這項事業的朋友和恩人。胡子義神父在影片中送給大家一份禮物，就是快樂的秘訣。鮑思高神父承諾慈幼會會士麵包、工作和天 堂。而天國就始於現世。快樂就是有一個為他人開放的心。當你的心完全忘卻自我，只關心需要你幫助的人，而做一切可幫助他們的事，那麼你就找到快樂了。
導演 Gianni Criveller 教授分享說 ，胡子義神父是一個偉大的慈幼會會士和傳教士。他們製作這部紀錄片是因為胡子義神父的傳教生活、服務數以百計的痳瘋病人，使他留下深刻的印象。胡子義神父與痳瘋病人一起生活，不僅是為他們，而是與他們在一起。而他對 痳瘋病人所展現的慷慨和他的謙遜是一個非常高尚的見證和榜樣，是我們想保存的。此外，他們希望透過這部紀錄片，把訊息傳遞給新一代，並能記住他的貢獻。幸運的是澳門路環痲瘋村已關閉，再沒有人受這個病 折磨。然而，胡子義神父的榜樣 及見證會一直延續下去。未來，他們希望可在一些信仰頻道播放這紀錄片。十二月初，計劃在澳門放映。他們也會與香港教區視聽中心聯繫，看看是否可以加入中文字幕，供香港和澳門的天主教教友欣賞。當然，他們希望讓更多人觀賞這部紀錄片。
Gala Premiere of “Father Nicosia, The Angel of The Lepers ”
11 November 2015 – On 11 November 1935, Fr. Gaetano Nicosia started his mission in Hong Kong and Macau, so the producer chose this day to release publicly this documentary movie. All proceeds will go to ‘Little Sisters of The Poor – Saint Mary’s Home for the Aged’. More than 100 audiences attended this event.
Cardinal Joseph Zen believed that Fr. Nicosia was very happy with this event because these all came from God. This documentary reminded him that it was a privilege for him to be an Italian, a Christian, a Salesian priest, and finally to be a missionary to work for the lepers. He is always full of joy and very grateful to all the benefactors. Tonight, we should also remember all those friends and benefactors who supported this work of Fr. Nicosia. Cardinal Zen believed that one thought that Fr. Nicosia wanted to give as a gift of this evening was the secret of happiness. Don Bosco was used to promise the Salesians enough to eat, enough to work and the heaven. The heaven starts here on earth. This happiness is always to have the heart open for others but forgetting one self. When you have a heart completely free from yourself, caring only for the people who need your help, and you do everything to help them, then you would find happiness.
Professor Gianni Criveller, one of the directors shared that Fr. Nicosia is a great Salesian and missionary. They wanted to make this video because they were very impressed by the quality of his missionary life and by the service that he gave to hundreds of people suffering leprosy. Fr. Nicosia lived his life together with the lepers, not only for them, but together with them. And, the generosity that he displayed and the humility that he always had with them is a very noble testimony and an example that we want to keep alive. Moreover, they hoped that through this documentary movie, the message could be transmitted to new generations who would remember his contribution. Fortunately, that village at Coloane, Macau was closed now and no more people suffered from this disease. Still, the example and witness of Fr. Nicosia will live on. This was the reason why they made this movie.
Regarding the future plan for this documentary movie, they hoped that some television channels would be interested. And they would have a presentation in Macau in early December. They might also get in touch with the Audio-Visual Centre of Hong Kong Diocese to see whether they could add Chinese subtitles to it and to spread among the Catholics here in Hong Kong and Macau. Certainly, they wanted to make this movie known to more people.
