【慈幼通訊社 ─ 2024 年3月 5 日羅馬梵蒂岡訊】 ─ 2024年3月5日星期二，梵蒂岡聖座傳播部宣布，教宗方濟各任命鮑思高慈幼會總會長范達民樞機（Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, SDB）為總主教，領銜Ursona教區，並將於4月20日晉牧。
范達民樞機是慈幼會第十任總會長，於2014年當選，並在2020年獲得連任。教宗方濟各在2023年7月9日（星期日）和信眾恭諗三鐘經後，公佈任命他為樞機，並在同年9月30日的擢升新樞機的儀式上正式接受了樞機的紅帽和戒指。
2023年10月4日星期三，他獲得了羅馬教廷的第一個職務，被任命為聖座獻身生活和宗徒生活教廷部（DIVCSVA）的成員。
2023年12月17日，聖座更授予范達民樞機羅馬Via Tuscolana的聖母進教之佑大殿的執事職務。
按照教宗為鮑思高慈幼會定下的規定，范達民樞機已宣布召開慈幼會第29屆全會代表大會（將於2025年2月16日至4月12日期間舉行），屆時將選出新的總會長繼任人。現在范達民樞機即將結束他的任期，並履行教宗所委派的使命。
Vatican – Assignment of the Titular See and Episcopal Ordination of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major
(ANS – Rome–Vatican, 05 March 2024) – On Tuesday, 5 March 2024, the Holy See Press Office announced that the Holy Father Pope Francis has assigned to Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, SDB, the Rector Major of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco, the titular See of Ursona, with archiepiscopal dignity, in view of his episcopal ordination scheduled for coming 20 April.
Ángel Fernández Artime, Don Bosco’s Tenth Successor at the head of the Salesian Congregation, was elected first time in 2014 and then re-confirmed in 2020. He was preconciliated Cardinal by Pope Francis after the Angelus on Sunday, 9 July 2023, and subsequently received the Cardinal’s biretta and ring in the Ordinary Public Consistory on 30 September 2023.
On Wednesday, 4 October 2023, he received his first assignment in the Roman Curia, being appointed a member of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (DIVCSVA).
On 17 December 2023, Card. Fernández Artime took possession of the diaconate of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Via Tuscolana, assigned to him by the same Pontiff.
According to the provisions for the Salesian Congregation established by the Holy Father, Card. Fernández Artime has already convoked the 29th General Chapter of the Congregation (which will take place from 16 February to 12 April 2025) at which his successor at the head of the Salesian Society will be elected. He will now conclude shortly, thus making himself available to the Holy Father for the mission that will be entrusted to him.
