Good to Know”

“Good to Know”: bytes of Salesianity for all tastes

(ANS Rome–RMG, 09 October 2018) – Which are the largest Salesian universities on a global level? And the novitiates with the greatest number of novices? And how many are the formation houses of the Congregation? To answer these and numerous other questions and curiosities about the Salesian world, and of the Church, today a new section of the Salesian Agency iNfo begins: “Good to Know.”

The new column is brought to life today with brief information on the Salesian presence at the Synod of Bishops on young people. Agility of the information, along with clarity, will be the two fundamental traits of the new service.

In this way we want to offer readers the opportunity to know some “bits or bytes” of information on the Salesian and ecclesial universe, useful both as data in itself, and to better grasp the outlines of this vast movement of people – and structures, resources , activities, initiatives … – for the salvation of young people.

In this sense, the column is designed not only to satisfy the readers’ enjoyment of the site, but also to meet the demands of media operators who over time will have a rich and varied database on the Congregation.

“Good to Know” will be weekly and visually placed in the right column of the homepage of the site, just below the window on the ANS Facebook page.

The column is the result of the collaboration between the ANS agency and the numerous departments and operating sectors at the Salesian headquarters, as well as the help of many Salesians and friends of the Salesian Family who, in the various countries in which they are active, facilitate the collection of information and significant data.

In a rapidly moving media universe, characterized by the speed of information, but too often by the lack of transparency on the sources, the new “Good to Know” section aims to inform readers with certain, clear and easily readable data.
