- Bro. Peter Nguyen Quang Han, SDB (阮光欣修士)
- Bro. Jerome Pham Van Tien, SDB
- Bro. Paul Nguyen Duc Khai, SDB
- Bro. Peter Le Tran Tuan Chinh, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Nguyen Quoc Duong, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Le Van Hung, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Nguyen Thuan Loi, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Tran Vinh Quang, SDB

Xuan Hiep, Saigon, 18 August 2025 — In the great joy of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15, 2025), the Salesian Province of Vietnam received an immense grace as eight courageous confreres responded to God’s call, publicly professing their perpetual vows to belong entirely to him and to be consecrated to the mission for the young. The Mass of Perpetual Profession was celebrated in a solemn and sacred atmosphere at the Don Bosco Xuan Hiep Parish Church.
From early in the morning, the parish grounds were filled with the joy of reunion. Confreres, religious men and women, relatives, benefactors, and friends from far and wide gathered to share in the happiness and to unite in prayer for the candidates. Heartfelt greetings and warm handshakes in the spirit of family created a vibrant tapestry of unity.
At precisely 9:00 AM, the concelebrating priests, led by the Provincial, Fr Barnabas Le An Phong, SDB, entered the church in a solemn procession, accompanied by the joyful entrance hymn sung by the congregation, officially beginning the liturgy of thanksgiving.
Following the proclamation of the Gospel, the Rite of Perpetual Profession commenced. The Provincial introduced the eight candidates to the community:
- Bro. Peter Nguyen Quang Han, SDB
- Bro. Jerome Pham Van Tien, SDB
- Bro. Paul Nguyen Duc Khai, SDB
- Bro. Peter Le Tran Tuan Chinh, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Nguyen Quoc Duong, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Le Van Hung, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Nguyen Thuan Loi, SDB
- Bro. Joseph Tran Vinh Quang, SDB
In his homily, Fr. Barnabas shared a profound reflection on the meaning of “belonging to God,” drawing from the perfect example of the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially within the context of the Holy Year of Hope 2025:
- The Foundational Joy of a Believer: The celebration of the Assumption is the celebration of the joy of belonging to God. Like Mary, each of us is called to share in His glory. The perpetual vows made today are the most powerful proclamation of the joy and desire to belong completely to the Lord.
- Mary – The Model of Consecrated Life: Our Lady is the perfect model of humility (“the handmaid of the Lord”), complete obedience (her “Fiat”), and faithful accompaniment of Jesus to the end. The glory she received is a sure hope for all who follow the path of consecration.
- Messengers of Hope: The Provincial addressed the newly professed directly: “Your profession today is not just a personal commitment; it is a sign of hope for the world, especially for the young. In the midst of a turbulent world, you are called to bring Christ to others, to be witnesses of hope in the glory of Heaven—a glory found in the crucified and risen Christ.”
The Rite of Profession was the heart of the celebration. One by one, each confrere approached the Provincial, placed his hands within his, and publicly professed his perpetual commitment to God in the Salesian Congregation. The moment when the newly professed prostrated themselves before the altar as the community sang the Litany of the Saints was deeply moving, symbolizing a total self-abandonment so that God might take complete possession of their lives.
The Mass continued with the Liturgy of the Eucharist in a spirit of profound communion. Before the final blessing, a representative of the newly perpetually professed expressed sincere gratitude to God, Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco, the Superiors, the Province, the formators, their families, and the entire community present.
This day of grace was extended with a fraternal meal in the parish grounds, further strengthening the bonds of the Salesian family. May God, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians and St. John Bosco, pour out abundant blessings upon the eight newly perpetually professed confreres, so that they may always be faithful to their covenant of love and become shepherds after the heart of Christ for the young people of today.
