‘You are my God’. A collection of songs to lift the spirit towards the Lord

(ANS – ItalyRome, 26 January 2026) – Fr Gilberto Driussi and Fr Simone Calvano are two Salesian priests from the Salesian Province of St Mark in North-East Italy (INE) and the Sacred Heart Circumscription in Central Italy (ICC) respectively, who have been collaborating for some time in the field of Salesian music. Now, in view of the feast of Don Bosco in 2026, they have released a collection of 11 songs for prayer and liturgy – in a youthful style and more.

The songs are inspired by the psalms, some passages from the Gospel and, more generally, by the Word of God. There are also songs closer to the Salesian charism, with a piece in honour of Don Bosco and a beautiful song in the style of a ‘goodnight’ song, in the best Salesian tradition. In general, the collection is also a valuable aid for renewing the repertoire of liturgical assemblies.

According to the two authors, the inspiration for this work came from a desire to give the various musical expressions present in their environments the opportunity to have new and engaging songs at their disposal for prayer and the Eucharist… Or simply to be able to enjoy good music to listen to, lifting their hearts to the Lord.

‘It is an opportunity to pray by singing with that deep joy that only music can give,’ comment the two Salesian priests. ‘Let the strings of your heart vibrate… And enjoy listening!’

The collection of songs is freely available online, on YouTube and Spotify
