【慈幼通訊社 ─ 2011 年 10 月 21 日羅馬慈幼會總部訊】─ 2011年10月23日主日，教宗本篤十六世宣佈真福類斯關納拉(1842-1915)為聖人。他與鮑思高神父及慈幼會神恩有特殊淵源。
他在那裡與鮑思高神父相處了三年。他發了暫願，負責管理聖類斯慶禮院，以及鮑思高神父稱為「瑪利亞神子」的成年聖召者。 他十分欣賞鮑思高神父，又因為他們的性情十分相似：富進取心、愛德宗徒、有決斷力、猶如慈父、熱愛聖體、聖母及教宗。 慈幼靈修及教育法，為日後仁愛之僕修會及主顧修女會的成立，提供了穩固的根基。在慈幼會學校中，他學會以溫良而堅定的態度對待青年，在教育上切願「預防勝於治療」，並學會了充滿拯救人靈的宗徒熱忱。 10月24日是新聖人的禮儀紀念日，可採用慈幼會專用禮儀舉行。 Canonisation of Blessed Luigi Guanella (ANS - RMG –Rome, 21 October 2011) – On Sunday 23 October 2011 Pope Benedict XVI will proclaim Blessed Luigi Guanella (1842-1915) a saint. He has special links with Saint John Bosco and the Salesian charisma. Like that of Don Bosco, the life of Fr Guanella, was marked by a dream at 9 years of age, the day of his first Holy Communion: a Lady (as he described the Madonna in the account he gave) showed him everything he would have to do for the poor. Later Fr Luigi Guanella heard talk about the priest of the young and wanted to get to know him. In 1870 he went to visit the Oratory in Turin. He then spent three years with Don Bosco. Having taken temporary vows he was made director of the St Luigi oratory and given charge of the late vocations, the “Sons of Mary” as Don Bosco called them. His admiration for Don Bosco went very deep, also because they were very similar in temperament: enterprising, apostles of charity, decisive, fathers, with a great love for the Eucharist, Our Lady and the Pope. Salesian spirituality and pedagogy were a firm foundation in the formation and mission of the future founder of the Congregations of the Servants of Charity and Daughters of Our Lady of Divine Providence. At the school of Don Bosco he learned the friendly but firm approach with the young and in education the desire to prevent rather than cure, and a great apostolic zeal in the salvation of his neighbour. On 24 October there will be the liturgical memorial of the new saint which it will be possible to celebrate following the Salesian Proper. |
