Hong Kong – Salesian Education and Evangelisation: formation meeting for teachers
20 November 2025

Hong Kong – November 2025 – On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition, the Office of Lay Mission Partners in Hong Kong organised a formation meeting for intermediate level teachers in Salesian schools. The event was held on 14 November at the Tang King Po School and was also attended by some teachers from Macao, who were connected virtually. Under the theme ‘Salesian Education and Evangelisation’, they discussed the deep connection between education and evangelisation and reflected on how these can be lived out in non-formal educational contexts, such as holiday celebrations and charitable service. The meeting opened with a welcome from Fr Antonio Leung, followed by a greeting from the Superior of the CIN Province, Fr Domingos Leong. During the sessions, educators were reminded that, besides imparting academic knowledge, they are also invited to accompany students on their path to holiness in daily life. Finally, much space was devoted to volunteering, thanks to the intervention of Mr Chan, from the Salesian English School in Hong Kong, who highlighted how it can become an effective means of evangelisation, inspiring students to follow the example of Jesus in serving those in need.
